Just my personal opinion, if you are in the market for Satellite/Freeview/Cable, and also want Kodi and/or android (for non Store apps), then the Weetek Play appears to tick all the boxes.

Not got one myself yet, but is on my "to do" list.

I use Serviio under my ESXI server standalone box, Serviio is great for standard Samsung smart telly's I have here (on the fly transcoding when required), but do enjoy my Raspberry PI's that I take with me when working away.

Not got an android TV box here personally, but had a play with a couple to update for m8's, the M2 is quite good, but personally I would look at a Weetek Play which appears to have more options and more future proof, as IPTV is the obvious future, but can still do old world transponder RF stuff with a tuner.

Lraizer and Renwich have got Weetek boxes, so have a look on here at their posts, Renwich will hopefully post more info after he has had chance to play with his new Weetek box more.

Hi guys just a quick update.

I have always been a user of xbmc/kodi as people now know it.
I have done abit of research and discovered "the black hole"
Which is just someones setup who seem to be updating regular.. Free of course.

First i tried on my laptop- first impressions?
good for movies, cinema releases and easy to use
streaming? It works, intermittant- replace an educational dbox/duo etc? No certainly not..
however, for people who like to watch films, tv shows etc - go for it!

i shown my mum, explained options and explained the cheapest and quickest option was to
pop to argos, amazon fire stick, 35 and we will give it a go and if fails or ran terrible.. We would take it back!

wow. For such a small device you wont beleive how smooth the gui is on xbmc/kodi , it matchs my powerful media centre!
that kinda done my head in, but none the less i discovered a new device, user friendly, my mum is loving it! (4 days use)

i have recommended it to lots of people, i call it, NetFlix on steroids (to non-technical people)
    which sums it up perfectly.

I would definately recommend anyone to have one of these to save time seitching laptop/pc on to get access to your
    latest movies, tv series etc..

i personally have never signed up to netflix, m mum has now cancelled her netflix sub and uses kodi

For 35 give it a go
if you educated yourself on sat side
this is a 30 minute job first time (collecting files)
10 minute job for your family or other rooms
if anyone needs or wants quick links pm me
    not sure if its allowed

    as always, thanks guys

oh, and dare i say it? Kodi and Chill?
