i also had a look at one of these this weekend, found my old image. updated autobouquets and it found channels no problem, i used trial tuner as i had it working for sat and cable at the same time

i was using this on a pc with openelec before had sat setup but had driver issues with cable. not looked at it again in a long time

well if it is showing mgcamd as active , it must be your mg_cfg file

think ppc is for e1 and mips for e2
